“Hair styling is both art and ministry for me. It’s just as therapeutic for my guests, as it is for me. I literally get to be apart of helping people transform - mind, body, spirit and soul. The joy I get from that is priceless. ”
Janae’s Story.
Educator, Licensed therapist, Social Worker and Singer are just a few titles that describe her. However, Janae's love affair with hair began before she could tie her own shoes. As a child, when her daycare teacher asked every kid what they wanted to be when they grew up, Janae confidently declared: "A hairdresser — and a singer!" She was right on both counts.
But her path wasn't a straight line —it was a calling built on service. Janae earned her Bachelor's in Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master's in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, becoming an advocate for women. That devotion led Janae into the beauty industry. She initially completed a natural hair care specialist program, then Paul Mitchell's cosmetology program — one of the best decisions of her life.
With a deep care for women’s mental health, she is currently a licensed therapist. That work — sitting with women in their most vulnerable moments, helping them find their voice and their worth — revealed the thread connecting her two passions. Her love for women's wellbeing didn't end as a social worker. It followed her into the salon.
Today, Janae is a Master Stylist specializing in therapeutic hair care, hair health, and bridal styling, bringing the heart of a therapist to every client who sits in her chair. She's also a gifted educator who has trained countless upcoming stylists and has been invited to lecture at hair schools, sharing not just technique but the philosophy of care behind her work.
From the little girl who knew exactly who she wanted to be, to master social worker turned master stylist — Janae's career is built on one truth: every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for.
